ANUNCIO
Do you believe in any of them? Do you know any superstitions that were not mentioned in the video? We are waiting for your comments!
I think many superstitions are just habits we develop. Others are learned from listening to our family and friends. My grandmother was adamant that if you walked into her house through one door, you must leave through another door. I never questioned her and did what she said. Anyway, I was always protected by my luck rabbit's foot.
I have had several black cats, and they were always a joy to be with. They were like a dog (had one at the same time, dog that is), and they always knew when I needed a little lovin. They gave their all.
I don't like cats in the first place especially black ones ,and don't have any problem with no 13 ,but i know is a bad lack to break a mirror at home or office
Although some people associate black cats with witches and would never have one around, I loved my little black Kittie. That's her in my profile pic. Her name was Holly for Holloween. I know Halloween is not spelled right but that's how I explained her name. She went over the pet rainbow two years ago and I haven't replaced her, yet.
Walking under a ladder was mentioned but not explained. Walking under a ladder is bad luck because someone working up on the ladder might drop a tool or maybe a bucket of paint and if you were under that ladder it would indeed be bad luck.
I love Ted Talks. Thank you for the tutorial on superstitions. They are harmless, but believing in them can hurt us, as such; 'knock on wood'. Ha-ha-ha.
Excuse the theologian in me coming out again, but Jesus's purpose on earth was to die for the sins of mankind.
He knew he would be arrested that night and crucified.
So if bad luck had anything to do with it, then it would have been bad luck for the rest of us had that little soiree not happened.
I was married to the most superstitious man on earth. Apart from all of the above, he was also afraid of 666 because it was the devil's number. 999 was the devils number upside down. 69 was also bad, and so was 15 because that was the sum of 6 and 9.
